A laid-back and joyous atmosphere is guaranteed. What to see and do Outings Bars Rosa Bonheur sur Seine Description Community facilities Map Description While its big sister, the Rosa Bonheur, is all about nature, from its mooring spot on the Port des Invalides (just next to Flow), Rosa Bonheur sur Seine offers up an incredible Seine-side view that takes inthe Eiffel Tower, the Alexandre III Bridge and the Grand Palais… Not bad! In terms of atmosphere, the large barge is drenched in the sunny, festive hedonism of the South. No fuss, just good energy. Fans of the protracted aperitif are welcomed all year round (come rain or shine): so set yourself around a barrel to share plates of charcuterie and tapas and drink to friendship. On Wednesdays, tables are folded up for the Bal du Rosa (Rosa’s Ball), when everyone comes to dance on the barge’s deck to a Spanish-themed village dance or pop and rock concerts. Wednesdays are live Salsa, New Wave and Bal Sevillanes. A careful program to party and discover new artists. On Thursdays and Saturdays, you can enjoy the dj sets. On Friday, it’s Bodega Tortillas Patatras night. The Camargue in the spotlight in an evening with an offbeat and slightly crazy ginguette atmosphere. And to finish the week in style, on Sunday, it’s the Get in Dance, the aperitif reserved for girls. Aperitifs and pizzas galore The space really comes into its own from the spring, when an enormous terrace is set in front of the barge on the banks of the Seine. The outdoor bar opens and an enormous wood-fired pizza oven is set up, providing food for hungry crowds (from 1 May to 30 October) after a table football tournament, as well as rounds of rosé wine from Provence. And in winter the menu adapts and offers a wider selection of tapas: patatas bravas, nuggets, hot dogs… Another high point: the afternoon launch of the Gay Games, underlining the gay-friendly policy of the place. At night, Paris has that special atmosphere and nowhere more so than by the glittering Seine with the Eiffel Tower, the bridge Alexandre III, and the Grand Palais on the horizon. The all-glass peniche Rosa Bonheur sur Seine offers a special seat for watching Paris at night, complete with snacks of tapas, sandwiches, and small nibbles all washed down with drinks while the waves offer a gentle sway as the bateaux mouches sail past. Photo courtesy of Rosa Bonheur, Credit Jose-Duarte da Silva Rocha There are many houseboats moored along the Seine, many re-imagined as bars and restaurants, but this one with its little hang-outs along the quayside is my favorite because of its location. The views are simply unbeatable, and in winter, you can swap the chilled cocktail glass for a mug of hot chocolate and it’s still a winner. Not sure about drinks on the Seine? Make your way to the bar’s other location in the Buttes Chaumont park for a night at the Rosa Bonheur on dry land! recommended by Ulrike Rosa Bonheur sur Seine Port des Invalides Bisou.
